An Inspiring Afternoon of Dressage with Charlie Hutton, Alanna Clarke & Pixie's Ponies

At Foxbury Heritage, we believe that great horsemanship is about continually learning, developing and striving to build better partnerships between horse and rider. That is exactly what made the recent Charlie Hutton Dressage Demonstration such a memorable event.

Hosted by Pixie’s Ponies, the demonstration brought together riders of all levels for an afternoon of knowledge sharing and practical training. Through thoughtful instruction, High Performance Coach and Grand Prix Rider Charlie Hutton broke down the principles behind each exercise, demonstrating how small, considered adjustments can make a meaningful difference to both horse and rider.

Joining Charlie was talented dressage rider Alanna Clarke, who showcased each exercise with quiet precision, highlighting the importance of patience, consistency, and sympathetic riding. Watching horse and rider develop throughout the session proved just how important correct, consistent training is, regardless of the horse’s experience or breed.

One of the biggest takeaways from the day was that successful dressage isn’t about forcing a horse into an outline. It’s about creating confidence and communication, principles that extend far beyond the dressage arena and into every aspect of horsemanship.

Beyond the training itself, the event reflected what makes the equestrian community so inspiring. Riders came together with a shared desire to learn, improve, and support one another, creating an atmosphere that celebrated good horsemanship above all else.
